On July 21, 2014 Bahama Beach Waterpark hosted the 6th Annual DFW Lifeguard Challenge. Lifeguards around the Metroplex under the ILTP® discipline met at Bahama Beach to compete in critical thinking scenarios which involve lifeguard rescue skills, CPR and first aid scenarios. As each team provided to care in each scenario they often have other patients who need their assistance, the lifeguards were forced to prioritize patients and provide care accordingly. These types of events are just the type of activities to keep our lifeguards striving for excellence and staying motivated near the end of the operating season when many find themselves burnt out and tired of long days in the Texas heat. Bahama Beach finished the competition in 4th place.
